Apple Addition Game Freebie!

Here's a game I have used in math centers before in the beginning of the year (goes well with apple unit!).

Directions:
       1.     Two or more players can play
       2.      Each player will take turns rolling the die
       3.      When you roll, count the amount of spaces and solve the addition sentence at that apple
       4.      If you answer the addition sentence correctly, you can move to that space.  If you answer it incorrectly, stay at the space you are on.
       5.      The first person to reach the finish wins!
(Provide manipulatives so they can check their answers if both partners are unsure!)

I've attached a picture of the game board for Apple Addition, but you can download it from my TeachersPayTeachers site here.

       Enjoy!

Awesome Read-Alouds w/ Video Online!

UPDATE: Just came across Barnes & Noble's Online Storytime which also has some free read aloud videos!  Check it out here --> Barnes & Noble Online Storytime

So I've come across some sites and YouTube videos that have read-aloud picture books with an accompanying video.  I've used these on the SmartBoard at times when we don't have enough time for a lesson, but do have enough time to fit in a story.  Sometimes it's good to switch it up with read-alouds, and some of these options have great videos (which allows all students to see the illustrations) to go along with the story.  They'll feel as though they are watching a movie or a show, when in fact, they are being a read a story!  I also found that this works well at times when the students are tired or riled up (for example: after a field trip or outside play) to get them back in "school mode."  Enjoy this list of videos and feel free to add your own in the comments!
